The Nigerian music industry has tremendously improved over the past decade. It has totally evolved from the time of been dominated by Kennis Music to what we have today *A diversified industry* One which any Tom Dick & Harry can easily penetrate into.

This diversification made power change hand
from a selected few to anyone or group that has what it takes to be and last in the now
competitive industry. Few Artistes survived that era of change that occured in d early 2000s and they include the likes of 2Face, Sound Sultan, Faze, OJB, et al.

And a little after that period right before the so to say "BOOM" period of the modern day Nigerian music industry, the likes of Psquare, D'banj, Eldee, M.I, 9ice, JJC, Sinzu, Essence and likes emerged and became a force to reckon. They really gave the artistes they met in the industry a run for their money with a whole new style and what Nigerians and Lovers of Nigerian music abroad were used to.

After this set came the "GAME CHANGERS" that totally changed it all, the pioneers of the industry we know today. Although many acts from the above mentioned eras made it through to the cureent one, the likes of 2Face, Sound Sultan, 9ice, M.I, Eldee, Psquare, D'banj et al. There were exciting new kids on the block like Wizkid, , Davido, Waje, Iceprince, Jesse Jagz, Naeto C, Jaywon,Wande Coal, Iyanya, Shaydee, Brymo, Olamide and the likes and most recently the likes
of Patoranking, Dammy Krane, Phyno, BurnaBoy, Seyi shay, Yemi Alade, , Praiz, Chidinma, Emeka_Official, Orezi, Ayo Jay, Skales, Dre Sticks. Sean Tizzle!

We nw have many labels building formidable teams guess because they all now realise that there is power in number. Such examples are the YBNL Nation, TripleMG team, The Mavin team, The EME team, D'banj's DB records et al.

Although the diversification in the Hip-Hop, Pop and RNB sector of the Nigerian music industry led to the emergence of talented acts and gave those that never thought of making it through music a chance to, it comes with its disadvantages; we now have loads of half-baked crappy songs out there once you have a little amount of money you
can get a not-so-good producer that will do a not- so-good job for you, Infact this is the order of the day right now and due to the high supply of songs and artistes it has made the cost of music and allied stuffs to climb up.

My Advice to the upcoming acts out there is; If you know you don't have the talent and or the money dont try to force your way into the industry because if you do *NEWSFLASH* YOU WON'T LAST!!!

If you have the talent but not the money keep on striving hard to get a sponsor believe me you one day you'll get there YBNL GENERAL @Olamde_Ybnl is a living example.

And if you have the money but not the talent, use the money to buy the talent by building a good team around yourself and polishing your little talent up O.B.O @iam_davido is a living evidence….
