Wasila Umaru, A 14yr old bride who allegedly poisoned her 35yr old groom, Umaru Sani and three others in a suburb of Gaya Local Government Area of Kano state has said that she did not regret.
The suspect said she took the decision because she was forced to marry a man that was not her choice of life partner. Moreover the father of the lady said they didn't force her.

She asserted that her action was prompted by her personal conviction and not by any external force or influence. She confessed to have terminated the life of her husband using rodent pesticides which she mixed with the meal she served him for his dinner.
"When my parents told me that they had found a husband for me, I could not object to it because our tradition forbids that we should disobey our parents.
" We always have no option than to accept whatever we were told to do, whether positive or negative. When they told me about the man, I knew within me that the man might not be my choice life partner. When we eventually got married, it was obvious that something was amiss and I knew that the consequence might not be pleasant," she said.
The deceased hubby was said to be married before he later got married to Wasila as a second wife two weeks ago. Speaking the state's police spokesman, ASP Musa Magaji Majiya said: "the bodies of the victims have been taken to hospital for autopsy, while investigation on the matter is in progress.
