The female students were taken from their hostels at the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok on the night of April 14. About 40 had escaped in the days after the incident, but parents and school authorities said at least 234 of them were yet to be found. Dr. Pogu Chibok, who is the leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, told Daily Trust yesterday that latest information available to them indicates that most of the girls have been taken to the neighboring Cameroon and Chad by their captors. He said before they were ferried in canoes across the Lake Chad, a wedding ceremony was conducted at a town on the border with Cameroon where they were married off to Boko Haram militants. He said N2,000 was paid as bride price on each of the girls to the specific Boko Haram members who took them from their school and who had assumed "ownership" of the students. "They ferried them in canoes to Cameroon and Chad republic after they were wedded off to Boko Haram members who bidded (sic) and paid N2,000 each as dowries on their heads," Bitrus said. "The dowry was paid to their captors, the very people who abducted them from their school. One of them who married one of the girls took her to a border town close to Cameroon where villagers saw her." Following their abduction, the schoolgirls were thought to be first taken to the Boko Haram camps in the notorious Sambisa Forest. Reports later said villagers had seen the girls being conveyed in trucks to other locations. Bitrus said yesterday: "So many sources have informed us that the girls have been taken to Cameroon. Many villagers said they saw the girls being transported in trucks and then in canoes. "On Sunday they were taken to Dikwa area where they (Boko Haram) have a camp there. From there they took them to Marte, then Monguno before they were finally ferried in canoes. It was yesterday we got this latest report of them being married off to the insurgents by their captors." He said sources in Cameroon told them that most of the girls were now being held at "an area where the Boko Haram operates in Cameroon." 'Crying day and night' On whether military authorities were informed about the movements of the girls, Bitrus said: "The military was alerted on Tuesday about two weeks ago when some villagers saw many of the girls being transported in trucks, some with even their school uniforms. The villagers tried calling the senator representing the zone but they couldn't get him so they went to Bama barracks where they reported the matter. "At the Bama barracks they were told that they must put it in writing, that that is the military tradition. At that time if the military had intervened they would have stopped them from reaching their destination. "And the fact that for nearly two weeks we have been talking about this and nothing is being done, then there are questions we have to ask. Nobody did anything." Bitrus sobbed as he spoke to our reporter yesterday. "What is happening with the Nigerian nation? I think we demand some answers. Today it is happening to these unfortunate girls from Chibok, tomorrow it may be somewhere else and that is why all Nigerians must rally around us on this," he said. "If these captors are trying to achieve a political point, I think the best thing is for us to try to make sure that they don't succeed but from all indications they are succeeding due to inaction of government. It is helping these people in achieving their objectives." Earlier yesterday, Bitrus spoke to the BBC Hausa radio saying "parents of these girls have been angry that despite the existence of government, there has not been concrete effort from government on the matter. "Female parents have been crying day and night, because nobody knows what government is doing about the whole issue. All that we read in the papers is that Nigerian Army have done this or that." When contacted over claims that the military was informed of the movement of the schoolgirls, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, told Daily Trust: "The concern and anxiety from all quarters is quite understandable. Please be assured that as much as the forces may not disclose details of action being taken to secure the freedom of the girls, every information received on the subject is duly analyzed and acted upon as necessary. "No information is being ignored in the concerted effort to ensure the safety and freedom of the girls. Just pray for the successful outcome of all efforts please"

 The President of the TUC, Bobboi Kaigama, said this during the fourth lecture series of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Tuesday.
 
 While speaking on the theme, 'Corruption and challenges in nation-building', Kaigama noted that Nigeria needed to go tougher in its war against corruption.
 
 He said that leaders had no reason not to declare their assets.
 
 He said, "If the governments and legislators are truly sincere about the fight against corruption in the country, they must go tougher. Any public official, whether at the state or federal level, should be executed. Killing them after confirmation of any embezzlement allegation of more than N1m will lead us to the right path.
 
 "I sincerely recommend an active process of legislation that would support that. It would also serve the nation well to have a law which not only provides for every public office holder to declare his assets on assuming office, but also stipulate that he must repeat the exercise each subsequent year that he is in office and not later than one month after vacating the office. Such declaration should be in at least three newspapers and not just to the Code of Conduct Bureau."
 
 The TUC boss also advocated that corrupt leaders should be banned from occupying public offices.
 
 He lamented that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as well as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission were not strengthened.
 
 Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, said the war against corruption required a collective effort, saying, "countries all over the world have different times along their developmental journeys stared this behemoth squarely and fought it (not to talk to it) with their might collectively."

 Akindele reportedly operates from a hole he dug under the Gbaji bridge along the Badagry-Seme border.
 Sources say the accused was spotted by a man identified as Anthony Amos who watched him crawl into the hole under the Gbaji bridge.
 
 Akindele confessed to behind several unexplained deaths in the area saying he operates by hitting his victims dead or unconscious with plywood and dragging them into the hole before splitting their parts for food and selling parts to ritual buyers.
 
 He confessed to have been previously jailed for 5 years after raping a 17-year old girl.
 According to him: I have been in this business for the past 15 years after my friend advised me to stop riding okada and to join him in ritual killing and cannibalism. Whenever I see somebody walking alone without being conscious of who is watching, I walk slowing up to them and hit them with a big plywood on their heads after which they fall unconscious, I then drag them into the hole and use a knife to cut them into parts which I sell to some churches and some ready buyers who indulge in ritual killing for easy money, and some times when I feel hungry late in the night, I eat some parts for food he said.
 
 He gave details of his body part selling business revealing that he sells human heads for N7,500; breast for N1,500; penis for N1,000; hands and legs sell for N3,500.
 The Baale of Ajara Topa community, Samuel Amosu Owolabi, said he visited the scene of the crime and met the suspect being beaten by a mob. Owolabi said he pleaded with the mob to let the confessed cannibal live so that he can be prosecuted according to the law.
 
 It was confirmed that the suspect is now in the custody of the Badagry police division for proper investigation into the case.

According to the education acting minister, the release of the White Paper on visitation panels to Federal Polytechnics and Federal Colleges of Education is being concluded at the Office of the SGF. A statement yesterday by Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant (Media) to the minister, said Wike advised the chairmen of the governing councils to deploy their requisite skills to resolve the lingering strike of the polytechnics. The minister also advised the striking unions to respond to the President's good gesture by resuming academic activities in their various academic institutions. According to Wike, whom we choose to quote directly, and here's his exact word: "Permit me to call on our lecturers to call off their protracted strike to enable academic activities begin in the polytechnics and colleges of education. Let us show understanding with the government and the challenges before it and call off the strike.

Let them swear by the name of the Creator and all the seven elements of the earth that their actions were not the direct reflection of Boko Haram onslaught." 
 
 Those are the words of the Guru Maharaj Ji, the Spiritual Leader of One Love Family with headquarters in the capital of Oyo State, Ibadan. He said he had already told President Goodluck Jonathan who the sponsors of the sect are. Guru concluded by saying that some former military rulers, a former Vice President, and some leaders in the North are the ones funding the deadly group.
 
 So, what is Oga Jonathan waiting for before taking action? Or could it be that he doesn't believe the man?

Christians in Nigeria and the world over have been waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ on Earth to save the pious and believers of his calling and this has always been the bedrock upon which Christian believers good deeds are built upon but the Catholic Church has come out with doubts whether Jesus Christ promise of coming back was made at a time when he was inebriated, WAOW!!! 
"A SPOKESPERSON for the Vatican has officially announced today that the second coming of Jesus, the only son of the God, may not happen now after all, but urged followers to still continue with their faith, regardless of the news. 
We just feel Jesus is not coming back by the looks of it." he said. "It's been ages like. He's probably flat out doing other really good things for people somewhere else. The Vatican defended Jesus' broken promise, claiming "he was probably drinking wine" at the time when he made the comments." 
Cardinal Salvadore went further to state that Jesus made that promise in his state of drunkness and it was a promise that he couldn't keep. "Having the ability to turn water into wine had its ups and its downs." added Cardinal Salvadore. "We all make promises we can't keep when we're drunk. Jesus was no different." If this is the case, then what? Is there going to be a judgement day and if the answer is yes, then how is it going to happen? As Christians, if Jesus is not coming back again then what do we have to look up to? Is there going to be a resurrection? Now if this is true, then how are we supposed to believe what the Bible tells us? 
Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus promised his disciples that he would come again in 1John chapter4:1-3 of the bible: "There are many homes up where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am. If this weren't so, I would tell you plainly"

Obinna, the archbishop of the diocese, a tanker laden with petroleum fell while trying to go around the round-about which is situated just in front of the massive catholic cathedral, causing the petroleum product to leak out from the tanker.As is usual in such cases, because the round-about is well known for felling tankers trying to go round it, the area was immediately cordoned off to avoid people going to scoop the fuel and prevent fire outbreak, while waiting for the relevant government and emergency agencies to come take care of the situation.While all these was going on, some boko haram elements residing in the area tried to capitalise on the unfortunate situation, because the area(Control Post) is known to house a massive number of northerners who have taken refuge in some uncompleted and slums around the adjourning road. The boko haram insurgents quickly mandated one of their members to go set the tanker ablaze with a lighter. But for the watchful eyes of a reverend sister who was keenly observing proceedings, who quickly raised alarm and the insurgent was quickly accosted before he could wreck havoc.Irate mob quickly seized the boko haram element and started beating him and nearly set him ablaze except for the timely intervention of the Archbishop who was alerted while all these was happening, and pleaded with the mob not to kill him but for him to handed over to the police. His plea was accepted and the insurgent who confessed to being from Taraba State was later taken away by the police.This incident confirms the rumour making the rounds that the dreaded boko haram sect has infiltrated the South-East and Imo State in particular. Everyone is hereby advised to be very vigilant at all times and report any suspicious person, object or gathering to the security agency.

There were fears and tension in the Mushin area of Lagos State on Monday morning after about 60 robbers operated on no fewer than eight streets and destroyed about 30 vehicles.Some residents told our correspondent that the robbers also raped some young ladies and operated unchallenged for about seven hours.The hoodlums, who reportedly belonged to two cult groups – Akala boys and Toheeb's gang – ravaged New Balogun, Euba, Ayonuga, Tiamiyu, Haruna, Ereko, Oyedele streets and Coker Lane.A mosque on Coker Lane was not spared as the worshippers, who slept in the mosque after a vigil, were robbed by the hoodlums.One of the people in the mosque said the robbers fired bullets for over one hour before robbing from house-to-house.He said, "It was around 12am on Monday morning that we started hearing gunshots. It lasted for about an hour."Around 1am, they started going from house-to-house, robbing the occupants. They stole about seven laptops from the house opposite this mosque. They stole phones, money and everything they saw. They came inside the mosque and took our phones and money. People were crying throughout the night. It was terrible."Another witness said the robbers were not in a haste. He said they robbed till 5am and came back at 6am to continue before leaving around 7am.It was observed that a generator was also removed from its shed by the robbers. Vehicles parked on the streets were vandalised by the robbers, just as two Toyota Hilus van were burnt.Our correspondent counted 20 vehicles, but some residents said about 10 damaged cars had been taken away by their owners for repairs.Kasali Daramola, a driver who spoke while fighting back tears, told our correspondent he owned one of the burnt vehicles.He said, "This is the third time they will do this to me. What have I done to them? The first was a Lexus car my younger brother bought for me, which I was planning to sell to acquire a commercial bus to take care of my four kids and wife. I sold the scrap for N30, 000. I used the money I raised to get a bus and I was paying for it by installment. I have not finished the payment when they destroyed it."Daramola said the men entered his house and some of the ladies living there were raped.He said attempts to bring in the police were abortive as they kept saying they were on their way without showing up.A resident said, "For over five years now this area has not known peace. Will the police say they cannot do anything about it? Around 7am that policemen came here, they still saw some of those robbers around, but did not do anything. Why? This
 is unbelievable! The policeman went mad and almost killed the ladies 
because one of them, a food seller, said she can't sell only fish for 
him; she sells her fish with food. The policeman who was drunk, and 
identified as Muhammed, took another lady who was buying food and beat her mercilessly in a muddy water.  
 
Fortunately,
 I head the policeman has been arrested. Cpl Muhammed Nasir with Force 
Number, 229057, has been arrested and is presently under investigation. 
Police authority say they are on top of the situation.

A 31-year-old woman, Idowu Akinwunmi, has narrated how the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onikan Police Station, SP Adekunle Awe, allegedly rapéd her, extorted and threatened her life in the station.

The victim said the incident occurred on April 15, 2014. She 
explained that on April 14 she was arrested by the police for “spurious”
 reasons. In her words:

 and it belongs to the same person. There is also a quarters where we

On Monday, a popular customer, known as Friday, came to eat. He later left, but some moments later, he returned to say he could not get a bus home. According to what Akinwunmi told Punch, at 1am, her boss, who 
discovered that someone was sleeping over, called the police to arrest 
her and the customer, Friday. She said two other people, who slept over 
at the tailors’ quarters were also rounded up.</div>

She said, “My madam called policemen to arrest all of us. I had only a 
pair of shorts, a shirt and a wrapper on. I had N11,000 in my pocket and
 my phone was not with me. On getting to the station, I got the phone of
 a policewoman and used it to call one of the tailors to come and help.
“In the morning of Tuesday, two tailors, Ben and Matthias, arrived to bail out their friends, but they were also arrested, bringing our total number to six.”

The victim said a few hours later, she felt sticky and pleaded with a
 policewoman on duty to allow her have a bath. She said she could not 
use the shower because it was too filthy, adding that on her way out, 
she met the DPO for the first time.

“I met the DPO along the corridor. He asked me what happened and I 
explained everything to him. Around 10pm on Tuesday, the DPO sent a 
policeman to call Friday and I. I was wearing boxers and a top. I stayed
 at the counter and Friday went in to see the DPO. A few minutes later, 
Friday came out and the DPO called me in.

“The DPO said he could make sure that I spent the rest of my life in 
jail, but I begged him. He then came close to me and started rubbing his
 hands all over my body but I rejected his advances.

“He said my boss had told him that he could do whatever he wanted to 
do with me. He said since I was from Benin Republic, if he killed me, 
nothing would happen.

“He said he would also make sure that the remaining five suspects 
would be sent to prison. At this point, the DPO had already taken off 
his clothes. Since I was afraid for my life, I allowed the DPO to have 
his way.

“I begged him to use a condom, but he refused. He pushed me to a smaller room in his office and put me on the bed and had séx with me. Immediately after he had finished, he told me to shower in a bathroom inside his office.”

Akinwunmi, a mother of two, said that the DPO promised to ensure that
 she was released the next morning and ordered a policeman to take her 
back into the cell. She said when she returned to the cell, she cried 
through the night. She said the following morning, she told some female 
police officers about the incident.</div>

She said when her people came to bail her from the station, the DPO asked one Inspector Taiwo to bring her to his office.
“The DPO gave me his telephone number 
and asked for mine, but I didn’t give it to him. He then said I could 
leave and promised that no one would collect bail money from us. However, on getting to the counter, the policemen on duty collected N30,000 from us,” she said.

On leaving the police station, the woman immediately went to the Lagos Island Maternity Clinic to do a test.

A copy of the medical report, signed by Dr. R. A. Seriki stated:</div>

“A complaint of séxual assault: General clinical condition 
satisfactory; no laceration, no bruises, no areas of hyperemia, negative
 for HIV 1 and 2, pregnancy negative. Has been placed on PEP and 
emergency contraception.”
The matter was said to have been reported at Area A Police Command, 
Lion Building, after which the Area Commander, ACP Imohimi Edgal, 
invited the victim for interrogation.

Now the matter had been transferred to the office of the Commissioner of Police.

Human rights activists have decided to intervene in the DPO’s show of
 shame. The Director, Project Alert on Violence Against Women, Dr. 
Josephine Effah-Chukwumah, urged the police to handle the matter 
seriously.

She said, “The fact that there were no bruises does not mean that 
rape did not occur. The moment there is a direct threat to life on the 
condition of séx, the offence is rapé. It is unacceptable.”</div>

Another Suspected Female Kidnapper Lynched In Kwara (PICTURED)

For the third time in a week, a mob in Ilorin, Kwara State lynched a suspected female kidnapper on Wednesday night.

Sources, who witnessed Wednesday’s incident, said deceased was 
dragged to a spot on the bridge where she was lynched by the mob on the 
suspicion that was a kidnapper.

The rate at which jungle justice is being carried out by members of 
society in Ilorin has made the Kwara State Police Command to dispatch 
undercover agents to apprehend anybody who tries to lynch any suspect.

The State Police Public Relations Officer,
 Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the latest episode of lynching in the 
state, noted that the command was now prepared to enforce its earlier 
warning against lynching of people, who may later be found to be 
innocent.

He stated that the command would not hesitate deal with perpetrators of jungle justice.

His position was earlier strengthened by the Police Commissioner in 
Kwara, Mr. Ambrose Aisabor, who Wednesday, warned residents against 
taking laws into their hands.

Mr. Aisabor also warned the residents against attacking people, who 
may be having mental challenges, but could be mistaken for ritualist.
