The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday suspended collation of results of the National Assembly elections held in Delta Central senatorial district on Saturday.
Announcing the suspension, the Returning Officer of the senatorial district, Prof Greg Okagbare, said it was occasioned by protests against the exercise, noting that "Some people are not satisfied with the results that we are collating.
"I have decided to stay action on the collation till I get further directive because they said there is need for them to seek clarification and look at the basic information that led to the final figures we are collating."
Meanwhile, Delta State Labour Party governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, has raised alarm over what he termed the circulation of fake result sheets for the Delta State governorship election scheduled to hold on April 11.
Speaking at his Abraka residence in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state, Chief Ogboru described the circulation of the result sheets as a shock to him and his party.
He said: "It was a big shock for us when we found out that materials for the governorship election are already in the state and possibly tampered with. Personally, we do not know who is culpable, between INEC and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
"When we went to CBN to sort out materials for the Presidential and National Assembly elections, we noticed that the seal for the package of the governorship result sheet was broken.
"Though we have made a formal protest to INEC, we are calling for fresh result sheets to be sent to Delta State."
