<p dir="ltr">Do you carry a cell phone in your trousers or jeans pockets? If you do, your cell phone could be killing your fertility. You could be inadvertently harming your fertility and sperm health and reducing your chances of fathering children. Results of long-term studies show that consistent exposure to radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell phones can harm male fertility.</p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="http://cdn2.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/412x250xiPhones.jpg.pagespeed.ic.eMiC_S2MNd.webp"><a href="http://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iPhones.jpg"></a><br> A man's sperms carry half the genetic material necessary to make a complete human being. A woman's egg holds the other half. But every time a man puts a cell phone in his trousers or jeans pockets, the device could be messing with his sperm health. The average cell phone emits radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation, RF-EMR, not only when the device is active when making or receiving a phone call, but constantly even when the phone is idle.</p> <p dir="ltr">The typical male wants to preserve his manliness and perpetuate his masculinity, particularly with regards to fertility and vitality.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Radiation</b></p> <p dir="ltr">While small doses of the radiation are not dangerous, over a prolonged period of time, the radiation can have deleterious effects. A small but consistent drop in sperm quality of men exposed to mobile phone radiation. While researchers find no link between mobile phone radiation and an actual drop in fertility rates, it could contribute to understanding the global and still unexplained drop in sperm count.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Sperm quality</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Sperm quality is very variable naturally and is usually assessed using sperm motility – a measure of the percentage of sperm that are swimming normally; sperm viability – the percentage of sperm that are alive in a given sample; and sperm concentration, meaning the density of sperm in fluid.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Male infertility</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Male infertility can be caused by factors such as hormone disorders, illness, injury to reproductive anatomy, obstruction or sexual dysfunction. These factors can temporarily or permanently affect sperm and prevent conception. Some disorders become more difficult to treat the longer they persist without infertility treatment.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Normal values</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Optimal levels for healthy sperm vary, but the norm is that 15 million sperm per milliliter is considered typical for fertile couples. A fertile man must have at least 58 percent vitality, 40 percent motility and at least four percent were normal-shaped sperm cells.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Low blow</b></p> <p dir="ltr">But just because a man has a low sperm count doesn't necessarily mean he and his partner can't conceive naturally. It only takes one sperm cell to fertilise the egg cell. And while a decrease in sperm quality can be linked to mobile phone exposure, it doesn't necessarily mean that the men are any less fertile. Given the increasing use of wireless devices, and general declines in sperm quality seen over the last 10-20 years across the world, it is certainly an area that in urgent need of research.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Don't throw away your cell phone</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Certainly there is anxiety about fertility, but as a man who is concerned, you don't have to ditch your cell phone. Just be smart how you use it. Don't put your cell phone in your front pants pocket. 444 deaths in 39 days: Boko Haram, more daring, more heartless

<p dir="ltr">Apart from the documented 444 murdered victims, hundreds of wounded persons and thousands newly displaced, all    from a surprising fresh onslaught by Boko Haram on scores of communities and towns in at least six northern states of Nigeria, the questions on the lips of Nigerians monitoring the carnage would all meet at some point.  Was the inaugural speech of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2015 in which he promised to stamp out Boko Haram shortly, just a brilliant prose with no work plan for execution?</p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="http://cdn1.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/412x250xYobe-Blast.jpg.pagespeed.ic.eG2oZqqXSN.webp"><a href="http://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Yobe-Blast.jpg"></a></p> <p dir="ltr">Was his diatribe on the terrorists and    his    renewed pledge to route the insurgents mere bravado; a  politically-right outing to    woo everyone as the messiah, while knowing deep inside him he had no such capability?</p> <p dir="ltr">Many of the residents who may have been inspired by the president's speech to return to the war ravaged  village of the North-East, especially in Borno State, only to narrowly escape renewed violence may be wondering if Buhari spoke in good faith.</p> <p dir="ltr">But those who still have faith in the president are wont to argue that it is too early to expect the man to wipe out a six-year-old orgy of murder in less than two months. They are likely also going to argue that those in opposition to the ruling APC are using the tragedy for political advantage. Ironically, it was the inability of the last government to cage Boko Haram that helped to swing winning votes in favour of the former, the opposition APC.</p> <p dir="ltr">Meanwhile, there is no running from the fact that eradicating Boko Haram within the days that Buhari has been in power would be too ambitious a project in scope and content given what the President met on ground.</p> <p dir="ltr">The most worrying factor, however, is that instead of ebbing, the deaths and destruction    caused by Boko Haram seem to be galloping compared to the pre-May 29 era.</p> <p dir="ltr">This is despite the moving of the military command to Maiduguri, Borno State capital and epicentre of the violence which has so far claimed estimated 100,000 lives since the move by Boko Haram to declare Nigeria an Islamic Caliphate started in 2009..</p> <p dir="ltr">But, Boko Haram is not only the group causing blood and tears to flow, even though many thought the situation ought not to get worse, given the hope Buhari inspired in the suffering communities, especially in the Middle Belt, when he came on board.</p> <p dir="ltr">From Benue to Nasarawa, Plateau and Kaduna, the tales of night marauders stalking sleeping communities and killing defenceless citizens remain a daily occurrence.</p> <p dir="ltr">Senator Danjuma La'ah, representing Southern Kaduna at the Senate,  penultimate week, addressed a press conference in Kafanchan, 180 km south of Kaduna metropolis, to register his displeasure with the state of security in his zone. La'ah, the only senator on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the North-North-West Zone, said: "After several days of silence from the government of Kaduna State over the most recent killings of law abiding natives of   Southern Kaduna, I have decided to make public my resentment over the development.</p> <p dir="ltr">"On the 5th  June, 2015, Ayagan village in Bajju Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State was invaded by well armed men. Four people were killed and several others injured when the invaders fired into a crowd of mourners, unprovoked.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Till date, no culprit has been caught, nor has the state government made any announcement in its effort, if any, at apprehending the killers.</p> <p dir="ltr">"On the 11th  June, 2015, one Tanko Nyam, 45, of   Kyari Daddu village in Jaba, LGA,   was ambushed by yet another set of gunmen and killed leaving behind his wife and five kids.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Then on the 17th  of June, 2015, gunmen attacked the village of Katsak, Atakad Chiefdom, Kaura LGA, leaving behind nine dead bodies     and 13   persons   critically injured as early as 8am.</p> <p dir="ltr">"This government was brought to power by a legitimate election from the electorate who are expecting a dramatic improvement on their security and general well-being. While, I acknowledge the fact that the government   is still young on the seat, it cannot claim ignorance or destitute of ideas on what to do in circumstances like this"</p>

But all of them have been clueless as to the real story behind the tango. But because of the attention Saraphina gets wherever she goes, Morocco was unable to keep her all to himself  because many men also want her.</p> <p dir="ltr">Then, an American returnee, Mathew (Chibuzor Emelu Simon) appeared on the scene and wanted Saraphina too. But this was something Morocco would not have and the duo found themselves in a series of face-offs which led to Morocco killing Mathew. Morocco was thereafter sentenced to death by firing squad. Later, he confessed he was under the spell of Ara Saraphina's boobs and advised young men to desist from getting infatuated with girls.</p> <p dir="ltr">While the story centres around Saraphina Amaechi, Zubi Michaels and Chibuzor Emelu Simon, there are side attractions from Ebube Nwagbo and Cossy Orjiakor. Ebube Nwagbo was the girl who was always intimated by Saraphina's boobs, and so wanted humongous boobs of her own. She decided to have breast enlargement surgery which eventually killed her. For Cossy, hers was a cameo appearance that pitched her boobs and against Saraphina's in a boobs contest, which she won.</p>

UTME 2015: JAMB Officially Release March 10 CBT Results

<p dir="ltr"></p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="http://naijaloaded.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/jambite.jpg"></p> <p dir="ltr"><b>The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the March 10th Computer Based Test (CBT) results for candidates that wrote yesterday. Statistics of yesterday's performance has some show of success from majority of the candidates that have seen their marks.</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Although the release of this year's Computer Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination was fast, the exam board had failed to meet up with the two (2) hours timeline given earlier for the publishing of result for the UTME written today. We however commend JAMB for making the result available same day – it's not easy!</p> <p dir="ltr">It is important to state that not every candidate that sat for the examination has seen their result. If you are yet to receive a text message from JAMB containing your total (aggregate) marks, please relax and don't panic. We can assure you that all the results will soon be out. Just sit tight and pray hard for a better grade.</p> <p dir="ltr">Regarding information on how to check March 10 CBT results online, we are yet to hear from JAMB on matters relating to checking for those who may have wrong phone number on record with the board.</p>

There is a Still fuel scarcity despite the assurance by NNPC

<p dir="ltr"> There seems to be no respite to the fuel crisis situation in the country, as the scarcity continued unabated, weekend, in Lagos Abuja, Nasarawa and environs.</p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="http://cdn2.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/412x250xFUEL-SCARCITY-2015.jpg.pagespeed.ic.N5OoKAl0F6.webp"><a href="http://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/FUEL-SCARCITY-2015.jpg"></a></p> <p dir="ltr">A man carries jerrycans to search for fuel in Lagos..</p> <p dir="ltr">This is happening despite the assurance given by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, that there is enough stock of petrol.</p> <p dir="ltr"><i>Vanguard </i>learnt that the situation was made worse by the agitation of independent marketers that the Federal Government needs to pay them the more than N250 billion they claimed to be owed.</p> <p dir="ltr">The marketers were said to be apprehensive that the Buhari administration may end up not paying them as they claimed. They, therefore, deem it necessary to arm twist  the government.</p> <p dir="ltr">To make good their threat, they have resorted to hoarding the product, thereby creating artificial scarcity. Most filling stations now open at night and sell at N100 per litre. Techno, Oando and MRS filling stations on Ojodu-Abiodun road, by Ojodu Berger area of Lagos were seen closed as at the time<i> Vanguard </i>visited. Vehicles were seen packed hoping to get the product, while the attendants refused to comment on the situation.</p> <p dir="ltr">Similar long queues were seen at Mobil, Conoil, at the tollgate end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, as well as Texaco and MRS at Ojota area of Lagos. Also, the NNPC station at Second Rainbow bus stop on the ever busy Mile 2-Oshodi expressway was closed to motorists who went to buy products. The same is applicable to all other fillings stations between First Rainbow and Mile 2.</p> <p dir="ltr"> </p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Black market </b><b>booms in Abuja</b></p> <p dir="ltr">The long queues that had been a constant phenomenon in the few petrol stations selling the products in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, remained, as motorists spent a minimum of six hours on the queue before they could get the products to buy.</p> <p dir="ltr">Some of the petrol stations, such as MRS, along the Kubwa Expressway, was seen selling with only two pumps, despite the fact that when <i>Vanguard</i> visited the station, it just finished taking delivery of a truck-load of petrol.</p> <p dir="ltr">Also, at the NNPC Mega Station, along the Kubwa Expressway, officials of the fuel station were seen conniving with security officials, to collect N1,000 each from impatient motorists who refused to join the queues. The motorists are then allowed into the station through the exit gate to purchase the product at the detriment of other law-abiding motorists who had been on the queue for hours.</p> <p dir="ltr">Again, a number of fuel stations in Kubwa, Lugbe and the Central Business District, which had been shut down throughout the day, were seen in the wee hours of the night, selling to individuals and black market operators in drums and plastic containers.</p> <p dir="ltr">This was even as the black marketers continued to have a field day, displaying their wares at major highways in Abuja and environs. The black marketers, who sell their products at between N180 to N250 per litre, were seen at almost all the petrol stations in Abuja, selling to motorists who did not want to join the long queues.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Motorists </b><b>express </b><b>concern</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Motorists who spoke to <i>Vanguard</i> expressed concern over the perennial fuel scarcity and wondered why the Federal Government is yet to make any serious pronouncement about the situation.</p> <p dir="ltr">One of the motorists, Mr. Chisom Nnamdi, lamented that the fuel crisis is taking a toll on the lives of citizens, stating that getting fuel to buy from the petrol stations is gradually becoming an herculean task.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to him, Nigerians are gradually running out of patience with President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that it is high time the President took a decisive step towards addressing the fuel situation which has lingered for too long and is gradually becoming a national embarrassment.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>We 're working to arrest situation </b><i>—NNPC</i></p> <p dir="ltr">However, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, told <i>Vanguard</i> that the corporation is doing all within its powers to arrest the situation.</p> <p dir="ltr">He expressed optimism that the fuel situation will stabilise from today (Monday), adding that the NNPC has been constantly supplying fuel across the country, both to its retail outlets and some major and independent petroleum marketers.  He said the NNPC has resolved to publish data of its fuel supply to marketers on a daily basis, in a bid to update Nigerians on the situation of things.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has also claimed that 188 truckloads of fuel, an equivalent of 6.2 million litres of petrol had been supplied to Abuja to ease off the fuel queue in the city.</p> <p dir="ltr">Mohammed Saidu, Spokesperson of the DPR in Abuja, had blamed the re-emergence of fuel queues in petrol stations to a drop in the lifting of fuel by marketers from Suleja depot.</p> <p dir="ltr">He stated that there had been a shortfall in products supply, adding that with the increase in the supply of more than six million litres towards the end of last week, the queues at filling stations would soon disappear.</p> <p dir="ltr">He argued that there was no reason why marketers would want to hoard fuel when the product is available. How Suicide bomber killed RCCG pastor, 5 others in Yobe

I saw him walking in and he didn't raise any suspicion. The dismembered body of the bomber was also recovered."</p> <p dir="ltr">It will be recalled that Potiskum last suffered a twin suicide attack on June 15, in which 10 people were killed and several others injured. The insurgents have launched a series of attacks on mosques, villages and markets in neighbouring Borno State in the past few days, claiming more than 200 lives.</p> <p dir="ltr">The use of improvised explosive devices and suicide bombings have increased since May 29 when President Muhammadu Buhari took office vowing to crush the rebellion.  According to the AFP, at least 450 people have lost their lives since that date.</p> <p dir="ltr"><b>Support Buhari to end Boko Haram attacks, Jonathan urges Nigerians</b></p> <p dir="ltr">Meanwhile, former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari in tackling the Boko Haram insurgents in the country. Jonathan, who lamented the continuous attacks of the terrorists in the country, noted that the death of any Nigerian at the hands of Boko Haram is a sad reminder that the war on terror is a task for all Nigerians not just the armed forces</p> <p dir="ltr">"The death of any Nigerian at the hands of terrorists is a sad reminder that the war on terror is a task for all Nigerians not just the armed forces," he posted on his Facebook account to his almost two million followers. He also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for peace in the country and support the government of Buhari in taming the acts of terror.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I urge all Nigerians to continue to pray for peace in Nigeria and to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the government does its best to bring an end to these acts of terror and secure all Nigerians.
